| This course, the second in the core chemistry syllabus in chemistry, introduces the student to the periodicity of physical and chemical properties of the elements and their compounds. Topics covered include: the Periodic Table -principles of chemical periodicity; a study of the chemistry of the elements of selected groups (I, II, IV, VII) of the Periodic Table; an introduction to the chemistry of some d-block elements. Laboratory exercises, related to topics covered in recitation, include qualitative and quantitative (volumetric) analysis. (Prerequisite: CHE 100)
